DYNAMIC
I have spent hours this afternoon trawling through Getty Images in the hope of finding some inspiration for my photograph-a-day assignment.
One of my ideas for this assignment has been to photograph traffic at night using a long-exposure to create light-trails.

I like the shape of the lines in this shot.
This image gave me the initial idea for tonight's shoot.
In our 1st RBS presentation, Sophie had the clever idea of altering her focal-length mid-exposure to gain a very artistic effect.
This image reminded me of that technique and I wanted to apply it to a traffic shot as seen below.

RESEARCH
Dictionary definition of the word ''dynamic'' from The New Collins Concise English Dictionary.
Of or concerned with energy or forces that produce motion, as opposed to static. of or concerned with dynamics. Dynamical, characterised by the force of personality, ambition, energy etc.
Other words for dynamic from The Collins Thesaurus.
Active, driving, electric, energetic, forceful, go-ahead, go-getting. (Informal) High-powered, lively, magnetic, powerful, vigorous, vital, zippy.
I did this by adjusting in both short increments and also by constantly altering the focal-length to give a more blurred effect.
I prefer the method of adjusting in small increments, starting with the lens at it's widest focal-length then gradually increasing the focal-length to full-zoom and then back to wide-angle all within a 30 second exposure.
I think that the composition of these images could definitely be improved but I am happy for my first attempt at this technique. Particularly considering that it was freezing cold outside and I couldn't feel my fingers for most of the shoot !
Thursday
As it was raining tonight, I decided to experiment at home with this new technique.
Here is 1 image that I produced.
