My plans for the weekend have been thwarted by the awful weather.
Friday day consisted of sitting at home watching the rain.
I managed to get some night shots of Manchester City Centre on Friday night but this took a long time to dial-in.
Saturday consisted of a trip to Salford Quays and Old Trafford.
Again, poor weather. Even though it was dry, the sky was heavily overcast and I really struggled to get good lighting and contrast in my shots.
My plan for Saturday night was to return to Salford Quays and to try some long exposure photography there.
Once again, I was defeated.
Manchester United football ground hosted a rugby cup final and the traffic around The Quays was horrendous. I battled through the traffic and on arrival at Salford Quays was presented with huge crowds of drunken rubgy fans !
In terms of risk-assesment, this was a big no. So I opted for plan-b which was to return to Manchester City centre.
The traffic was again terrible and a 10 minute journey took me nearly 40 minutes.
When I got to my shooting location, I managed to take 7 photographs before it once again began to rain. I waited for half an hour but the rain steadily increased and I was forced to abandon the shoot.
It is now 1.45 pm Sunday and it's raining again ! The weather is supposed to clear up around 4pm so this looks like my only opportunity.
